FAQs

  • We work with pubic and private sector organizations that need to communicate complex information in a way that’s accessible to everyone—including the 48% of Canadians who read below a high school level.

  • Most readability tools only focus on grammar, sentence length and word complexity. Clear8 goes further by evaluating tone, trust, structure, and WCAG AA accessibility compliance to ensure your content truly resonates and meets AODA accessibility standards. It’s the only tool built specifically for high-stakes communication.

  • WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) ensures digital content is accessible to people with disabilities. AA compliance is the legal standard for many organizations, including healthcare, and helps ensure that content is readable by screen readers, properly structured, and inclusive. It’s the gold standard for accessibility - if you’re WCAG AA compliant, you are also AODA complaint.

  • We currently focus on English content but are expanding into French in the very near future. Phase 2 of Clear8 includes coast-to-coast clarity, in both official languages.

  • We’re working on it as phase 2 of our rollout. Stay tuned!

  • Clear8 uses AI and human expertise together to improve healthcare content. Our AI helps spot jargon, long sentences, and complex wording that make information harder to understand. Then our experts refine, structure, and shape each piece of content to match your brand voice and audience needs. AI makes the process faster, but our team ensures the message is clear, accurate, and effective.

  • Even highly literate individuals struggle with complex, jargon-heavy content. This is especially true when dealing with stress, illness, or urgent decisions. The brain has limited cognitive load, meaning the harder something is to process, the less likely it is to understood. Clear, simplified writing is good for all of us.

  • You absolutely can. Simply send us a note at info@clear8.io and we’ll get back to you to make arrangements.

  • "Clear" speaks to our mission—making complex health information easy to understand. The "8" stands for grade 8 readability, our standard for accessible content.

When you put them together you get Clear8, a company that cuts through the noise and makes healthcare information work for everyone. Because clarity isn’t a luxury—it’s a right.
